First Steps

    "Alright, Scarlett, what next?" Ashton asked as we stepped out of the fast-food restaurant.
    I studied him for a minute, then started walking towards a large shopping mart--Wal-Mart I believe.
    "So...Wal-Mart? That's your answer?" He implored.
    I hope he doesn't ask questions all the time. "Yes, Wal-Mart. Didn't I ask you not to ask questions?" I reply as we enter the store.
    "Hey, a guy can wonder things can't he?" Ash grinned, grabbing a cart.
    "It depends on what kind of things he's wondering." I said.
    Ash chuckled then followed, me to the back of the store. "So what are we getting?"
    I didn't answer him, instead I grabbed two black backpacks off the shelf.
    "Backpacks? That means we won't be staying in one place for too long. So...we'll need food, and clothes and stuff right?"
    "Yes, Ashton. We'll head over to the clothing store afterwards." I answered.
    "Okay." Ashton followed me in silence as I grabbed things we would need; Some dried fruit, a small box of corn cereal, a few bottles of water, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, a hairbrush, that sort of thing. Then I stopped at the hair-dye aisle.
    Hmm. "Hey Ash? How do you feel about hair-dye?" I said grabbing a box of black hair-dye.
    "Um...I guess it's fine. What colour were you thinking?" He raised an eyenbrow.
    "Oh, I don't know...Black? Or dark brown. You choose." I smiled holding out the two different colours.
    Ashton picked black, so I put three boxes into the cart. "Three?" Ash asked, surprised.
    "Yeah, three, that way we can use it if we need it." I said simlply. "Come on, let's go check out, I think we've gotten enough from here."
    "You have enough money to pay for all this?" Ash sounded concered
    I walk to the check out zone. "No, but you have a bit of money too, we can put it together, we should have enough."
    "Okay, what happens when I run out of money?" He said following me, with the cart.
    "We sell your phone." I start placing our stuff onto the conver-belt.
    "What?!"
    "We'll need money."
    "I guess...Yeah we probably don't need the phone anyway." Ash starts helping me with unloading our cart.
    I pay, while Ash bags and puts the bags into the cart.
   As I'm paying the lady at the cash smiled, "Your boyfriend is very handsome."
   "He's not my boyfriend." I reply taking the change back.
   "Is he your brother?" She asks handing over the receipt.
   "No." I said taking the receipt and walking towards Ash.
   "You and your boyfriend have a good day now." The cash lady smiled after us. My eyebrow twitched. Ash only smiled.
   We exitted Wal-Mart then Ash asked, "Where next?"
   "To the hotel." I said, and lead the way.
